Gary Fine
Gary’s practice focuses on representing talent and businesses in the entertainment industry with a particular focus on the music industry. Current and former clients include a BMI Songwriter of the Year, the lead singer of a Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame band, Grammy winners, one of the first artists to hit a billion streams on Spotify, and many more. He has been the primary attorney on matters that include the negotiation, drafting, and/or review of recording agreements (including all major labels and “360” deals), publishing agreements (including all major publishers), asset purchase agreements, co-branding agreements, producer agreements (including many high-profile A-list producers), management agreements, fan club agreements, merchandising agreements, employment agreements, sponsorship/endorsement agreements (including those with Pepsi, Verizon, Bacardi, GM, Rolex, Ketel One, Sprint, Coke, Coors, McDonald’s, etc.), live concert and personal appearance agreements, influencer agreements, digital distribution agreements, composer agreements, and other agreements related to talent services in the entertainment industry. Gary’s practice also includes intellectual property matters such as licensing in the music space.
In addition to his full-time practice, Gary has been teaching a course entitled “Music Industry Contracts” for many years as an adjunct law professor at Southwestern Law School. His teaching assignments have included two summer abroad programs in London where classes focused on the international aspects of the music industry for law students and lawyers from the United States and around the world.
